This is the second time that looloo invited me to their #looloorendezvoos. This time, we got to experienced Shibuya’s authentic Yakitori! Woaaaaah.
Have you read my first ever #looloorendezvoos experience? Read it here.
TRIVIA: Toritake comes from the words tori meaning chicken and take meaning bamboo so expect that their menu is all chicken.
Despite of their name that means “grilled chicken”, Yakitori is more than that. Behind it lies an intricate process that involves choice ingredients and unique grilling techniques. By the way, they can’t grill their chicken skewers on charcoal grills because it’s located inside a mall but they found a better idea. They use “electric grills”. Here, they put charcoal inside the grill so that they can still get that charcoal taste and smell.
Upon reaching the place, you will feel a Japan-vibe somehow. I took these photos while waiting for the others.
Now, let’s go to the main event! Yahooooo.
I love how they presented and cooked it to us.
Yakitori Set consists of the following:
- Chicken Yakitori
- Chicken Meatball
- Chicken Skin
- Chicken Wings
- Green Bell Pepper
Overall, I had fun with this set of #looloorendezvoos. We were so hyper and noisy during our stay. LOL. Thank you Toritake PH for having us and thank you again looloo for the invite. Until next time! :)
According to their Store Manager Erika, their food is perfect with some cocktails to make lessen the “umay“. Their best sellers are their Yakitori but if you’re not a fan of those, you can order some appetizers, soups, and rice bowls.
MY TOP PICKS:
- Chicken Skin & Tail – Duhhh! Who doesn’t love these food? It’s so good!!! They tasted so delicious that I want to order more. I think can finish 10 sticks each. LOL.
- Torinabe – I love how they presented this to us. At first, I was hesitant to taste it but when I did, it was so good. Perfect for cold rainy days!
- Chicken Karaage – The chicken were huge! As in. I also loved how they used “potato starch” for the breading that makes it even more delish. What a nice concept!
The price are kinda pricey for me. But I found it reasonable tho. All the food we got are almost good for sharing!
Kudos to their staff. We had so much orders yet they managed to served the food well and they are very accommodating to our questions and all. Plus points to them!!!
Their branch in Manila is not totally the same in Japan but you can still feel the Japan vibe because of their open kitchen and some displayed Japanese whisky and sake bottles. They got a slight laid-back vibe too because of their wood interior around the place.
They have indoor and outdoor seating. So they can accommodate many people. By the way, they are located beside Crisostomo, old building of UP Town Center.
